Dora (Dora the Explorer)

Depiction

Dora began as a bunny living in the woods in live stage shows, but later became a Latina girl. At age seven or eight in the 2000 series, she is a multilingual teacher who loves sports, family, exploring, and her friends Boots, Backpack, Map, Isa, Benny, and Tico. She has two cousins, Diego and Alicia Márquez, who join her on some adventures. In the 2014 series, as a ten-year-old, she is a caring leader and role model with many friendships.

In the 2019 film, Isabela Moner plays her as a high schooler who seems naive and odd to others; a friend corrects her that she is an explorer, not a treasure hunter. Eugenio Derbez calls her a "Latino superhero." Madelyn Miranda plays young Dora. In the 2025 film, Samantha Lorraine plays a sixteen-year-old Dora who is smart and quick-witted, less of a singer and more of a catchphrase user.

She lives in the jungle and believes in ancient Inca myths. After a low period, she realizes she is the real Map. Scarlett Spears plays young Dora.
