Characters

Justin is the leader and general of the crew, wearing shoulder pads and elbow pads and wielding two laser pistols and an arm slingshot. Nate, Justin's younger brother, serves as the gang's ship pilot and right-hand man; he is the shortest and youngest, with short brown hair, a light blue top, and blue jeans. He calls himself 'big daddy Nate', has a fear of heights, and uses a laser sword given to him by the yo-diggians for helping save commander Blurp.

Jubei, a friend of Justin, rides a hoverboard and wears a visor cap armed with a laser shotgun; he is an accurate sharpshooter who calls a missed shot the 'kiki popo' and is apparently of Japanese descent. Ricki is the gang's genius and a whiz kid gadget creator with ginger hair in two pigtails, a red track jacket and matching jogging pants, grey hiking boots, and a blue wristband on her left wrist. She is an expert with anything mechanical, attacks with a metal staff, has a fear of water, and harbors romantic feelings for Justin.

Dent is a sentient robot given to Ricki as a gift after she helped save commander Blurp; he resembles a flat-screen computer with a hollow metal cylindrical body, two robotic arms, and wheels, communicating through beeps and displaying a digital face that shows his mood. 'Great Commander' Blurp, former War Commander of Planet Yodiggity in the war against Zorch, claims to be brave but his actions suggest otherwise. Zorch seeks to conquer the galaxy by gathering the Boom Cards.

Headlock, Zorch's cohort, wears a dome on his abnormally small head and is assisted by Gerone; he was voiced by Morris Day. Hetra is Headlock's evil older sister, and she and Commander Blurp were trained by the same mentor.

Production

Da Boom Crew was a joint production of Berliner Film Company and Los Angeles’s Jambalaya Studios. The children’s animated series was cancelled from Kids' WB! after just four episodes, a result of poor ratings and negative audience feedback. Although Animation Magazine indicated a second season was being developed, it never materialized, likely due to the show’s unpopularity and poor reception.
