Premise

The programme follows the misadventures of Sooty and his friends Sweep, Soo, and Little Cousin Scampi as they manage a hotel alongside Richard Cadell and Vicki Lee Taylor. They are joined by Butch, a dog who attempts various jobs assigned to him, and Miki, a Brazilian cat who serves as the hotel's chef. The format includes slapstick humour, guest stars, and music and songs, similar to Sooty Heights and earlier Sooty programmes.

Cast

Richard Cadell is the presenter, with Vicki Lee Taylor as co-presenter. Sooty is a mute yellow bear and the protagonist, who owns a magic wand activated by the words "Izzy wizzy, let's get busy". Sweep is a dim-witted grey dog who communicates with squeaks and loves bones and sausages. Soo is a calm female panda who wears a red skirt and acts as a foil to Sooty and Sweep; she was voiced by Brenda Longman in Series 1 and by Sheila Clark in Series 2 and 3. Little Cousin Scampi is Sooty's cheeky, troublemaking cousin who wears a navy-blue school uniform and is mute, though rarely seen.
