Characters

Jamie, played by Sam Phillips, works as the bellboy at Hotel Trubble and is often the most sensible member of the staff, though he can lack confidence and tends to panic easily. When he panics, he does embarrassing things and is usually the first to shout "Noooooo!" He was nominated for an award, like Sally, but for best bellboy. Jamie is sensitive and has strong emotions, such as when Verity Lumiere kissed him.

He generally means well and is probably the most normal of the three main employees. On several occasions, he shows romantic feelings for Sally—for instance, in "Super Trubble," he yells "Don't hurt the woman I love!" after Lionel shoots her with an arrow, then quickly corrects himself. Due to a mix-up between a fake and a real vicar, Sally and Jamie end up technically married. Jamie is very enthusiastic about his job; in one episode, it is mentioned that he never wears anything except his uniform, suggesting he might own a wardrobe full of identical blue suits.

Sally, portrayed by Dominique Moore, is the hotel receptionist. She can be troublesome and arrogant but is well-meaning and arguably the smartest staff member. Though glamorous, she finds hotel life boring and spends her spare time reading gossip magazines. She has an interest in acting and dancing, despite having no talent in either; her only role was playing a sheep in her school's production of Cinderella. She and Jamie occasionally show attraction to each other—in one episode, she thanks him for helping her out of a difficult situation and flirts with him.

Leonard "Lenny" Lemon, played by Gary Damer, is the eccentric member of the trio and often provides comic relief. He is the least intelligent of the group, regularly messing things up for his friends, asking strange people for advice, and taking directions and comments too literally. Despite this, he is good-hearted and hardworking, though his efforts rarely go as planned.

Dolly, played by Tanya Franks in series two and three, is Mr. Trubble's fiancée who first appears in series two. She is wealthy and effectively manages Hotel Trubble, constantly coming up with odd business ideas like a toilet made of flowers and hosting exclusive parties. She is rather dimwitted and is clearly disliked by Mrs. Poshington, Jamie, and Sally. Lenny gets along with her best because they both lack common sense, and he often gets roped into helping with her schemes. In series three, it is revealed that she was once a successful singer in Japan, performing under the name "Yolly Dolly."

Mrs. Poshington, played by Sheila Bernette, is a guest who never leaves the hotel. Every morning she asks pointless questions. She claims to be a marathon runner who ran the London Marathon 30 years ago (in 2009), even though the marathon was established in 1981. She also says she is the Queen's cousin once removed, a former actress, and a grandmother. In a few episodes, she helps Sally, Lenny, and Jamie solve their problems. Mrs. Poshington seems demanding but is kind-hearted and full of willpower. In series two, she loses her entire fortune and is allowed to stay at the hotel as long as she works as the cleaner. In "Time Trubble," it is revealed that she has had eight husbands, all of whom died under suspicious circumstances. She is not a good cleaner, as shown in episode 13 (4011), where her video depicts her breaking various items.

General Sirius Poshington is Mrs. Poshington's stuffed cat. She does not seem to realize he is not real and pushes him around on a wagon. She says things like "Sirius doesn't like running, he likes the cycling trips we go on together." In series one and two, she asks Sally to look after him when she goes out and calls frequently to check on him. In "Fashion Phonies," Jamie says Sirius will never walk again.

Mr. Trubble owns Hotel Trubble and calls very often on a special red phone with a siren instead of a bell or tone. Once, he threatens to fire Sally, Jamie, and Lenny if they do not give him a good birthday party. Mrs. Poshington is held responsible and is told she will lose her room if the party is not good. In one episode, an impostor brings the Trubble diamond and tries to steal it, first accusing Sally and then Lenny. Mr. Trubble never appears on screen and is only heard as a shouting, unintelligible voice over the phone, similar to the General in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines.

The Chef, like Mr. Trubble, is never seen and is only represented as a shouting, unintelligible voice coming from behind the double doors to the kitchen. He seems extremely hostile; whenever Jamie or Lenny enters the kitchen to speak to him, there is a lot of shouting before they emerge looking frightened or covered in something. He is French.

Daisy is the new receptionist, first appearing in series three.
