Lore & Background

The technique's legacy is deeply intertwined with the history of Konohagakure and the Uzumaki clan. For Naruto, mastering the Rasengan was a rite of passage that proved his growth from an outcast prankster into a true shinobi capable of protecting his village. As the story progressed, the sphere evolved; Naruto learned to infuse it with wind release to create the Rasenshuriken, and later combined it with Kurama's chakra or Six Paths energy, creating variations that could heal as well as destroy.

Reader's Guide

The Rasengan functions by forcing chakra to rotate at high speeds within the user's palm, creating a vortex of destructive energy. Unlike standard ninjutsu, it requires no hand signs, allowing for immediate deployment in combat situations where speed is critical. The technique relies entirely on the user's ability to control and compress their chakra; if the rotation falters, the sphere dissipates instantly. In the Boruto era, Sasuke makes Boruto learn the Rasengan before he will take him as a student, and Momoshiki, possessing Boruto, uses giant and Vanishing Rasengan. Strategically, the Rasengan excels at breaking through barriers and overwhelming opponents with raw power. However, it demands immense stamina and precise chakra control to maintain.
