Isshiki Otsutsuki

The ancient survivor who turned Jigen into a host to reclaim his stolen divinity.

Isshiki Ōtsutsuki is the real leader of Kara, who had been possessing Jigen ever since Kaguya betrayed him when they came to Earth millennia ago. His ability, Sukunahikona, lets him shrink objects, nonliving matter and his own body.

Lore & Background

Isshiki's history on Earth began when he and Kaguya arrived millennia ago, only for her to betray him. Through Jigen, Isshiki operated as the hidden leader of Kara, an organization searching for people with Karma marks—seals that allow Otsutsuki to resurrect via a host's body. Amado revealed that all Karma users, including Boruto and Jigen himself, would eventually be taken over by the Ōtsutsuki clan. In the end he set out to find Kawaki, but Naruto confronted him head-on.

Reader's Guide

Isshiki is defined by his ruthless pragmatism and survival instinct. His arc reveals him as the true mastermind behind Kara, pulling strings from within Jigen's body until he could fully manifest his physical form. His powers include Sukunahikona and the Byakugan, but once forced back into Jigen's weakened body his lifespan is limited. The turning point of his story occurs when Naruto confronts him head-on; despite Isshiki's overwhelming power, he cannot survive long enough to complete his plan. His death marks a critical shift in the narrative, as it forces Code to act on his final orders and unleashes Eida and Daemon, whose shinjutsu abilities transcend traditional ninjutsu.
