Robert

Callister Inc.'s co-founder who rules a private copy of his own game as its captain.

Robert Daly is the antagonist of the Black Mirror episode "USS Callister". He is the co-founder and chief technical officer of the games company Callister Inc., maker of the online game Infinity, but his colleagues overlook him. At home he runs a private, modified build of the game styled on his favourite show, Space Fleet, and plays its captain.

Lore & Background

Daly secretly takes DNA samples from his colleagues and uses them to create sentient digital clones of them inside his build, where they must serve as his crew and suffer his punishments. When new programmer Nanette Cole is cloned too, she rallies the crew: they escape through a wormhole while the game updates, leaving Daly stuck in his collapsing build while the clones roam free inside the live game.
