Lore & Background
People rate one another from one to five stars on their phones after every interaction, and the running score shapes their social and economic standing. Lacie, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, chases a higher rating. Netflix gave the episode a far bigger budget than the Channel 4 series had; Brooker wrote the outline, Schur the first half and Jones the second, and it was shot in South Africa with Seamus McGarvey as cinematographer.
