Signet Ring
The Phantomhive family ring worn by the head of the house.
The Signet Ring is Ciel Phantomhive's family ring in Black Butler, an heirloom of the Phantomhive family. In the first anime season Ciel's fiancee Elizabeth Midford shatters the ring when she sees that he is not wearing the one she got him. Ciel, enraged but stopped by Sebastian, calms down and throws the ring out, declaring that he is head of the family with or without it; that night Sebastian returns it to him, restored.
Lore & Background
In the second anime season Sebastian, hiding Ciel's lifeless body in his suitcase, takes from the Trancy estate a special black tea box that is revealed to contain Ciel's family heirloom ring. He places it on Ciel's finger and says it is time to wake up. Later, at an asylum, Claude Faustus confuses Ciel into thinking Alois Trancy's memories are his own and puts Alois' ring onto Ciel's finger.
