Lore & Background
Knuckledust was formed in 1996 when Nic, Ray, and Wema contacted Pelbu to start a band. The group has released five studio albums, beginning with Time Won't Heal This in 2000, followed by Universal Struggle (2003), Unbreakable (2005), Promises Comfort Fools (2007), and Bluffs, Lies & Alibis (2012). The 2016 release Songs of Sacrifice is an EP, not a studio album. Their early output includes a self-released demo in 1996 and the London Hardcore EP in 1997. The band has also contributed to split recordings with Area Effect, Indecision, Stampin' Ground, and Unite, and released a compilation titled Dustography in 2006.
Reader's Guide
Knuckledust have maintained a stable presence in the heavy hardcore scene since their formation in 1996, with no changes in personnel across decades of activity. Their discography spans six studio albums and multiple EPs, splits, and compilation appearances, reflecting a sustained output. The band's influences—25 Ta Life, Warzone, Agnostic Front, and Sheer Terror—place them within the hardcore tradition. Their music videos, including '25 Years Dead' (2003) and 'Bluffs, Lies & Alibis' (2012), document their visual as well as audio work. The band continues to tour and release music, as seen with the 2021 EP ...In Plain Sight. Their significance lies in their longevity and consistent lineup, a rarity in the genre, and their role in the British hardcore scene.
