Lore & Background
The goblin camp is part of the game's first act, which has no designated tutorial but uses certain resources and encounters to guide the player. The act is primarily set around a mind flayer ship wreckage. The camp is one of several locations in the act, alongside a druids' grove and a monastery. Eight of the game's ten companions are introduced in act one, with six recruitable near the start. The Underdark is a large subterranean area accessible through multiple locations; each entrance leads to unique environments. Act one ends when players traverse the mountain pass or Underdark to reach act two's setting.
Reader's Guide
The goblin camp is a large, explorable area in act one. Players can approach it through combat, stealth, or dialogue. The camp contains goblins, and players may encounter leaders such as Minthara and Dror Ragzlin. The camp is connected to the broader quest involving the druids' grove and the tiefling refugees. Players can choose to fight the goblins, ally with them, or use deception to navigate the area. The outcomes of combat, dialogue, and world interaction are generally determined by rolling a 20-sided die. The camp is one of the locations where players can recruit companions or advance their personal quests.
