The mercenary company that guards Baldur's Gate.
The Flaming Fist is a mercenary company in the Forgotten Realms based in the city of Baldur's Gate on the Sword Coast, where its members serve as the city guards. Formed in 1345 DR and led in the 1300s by its founder, Grand Duke Eltan, it was one of the most powerful and expensive fighting forces in the Realms during the 14th century DR, motivated mainly by riches and glory though leaning towards promoting order. It operates under a strict military hierarchy; Grand Duke Abdel Adrian served as its Marshal until his death in 1482 DR and was succeeded by Ulder Ravengard, and its enemies include the Cult of the Absolute.
