Vir Cotto
Londo Mollari's assistant, posted to Babylon 5 to keep him far from his family.
Vir Cotto, played by Stephen Furst in seasons 1-5, is a Centauri from a family of minor nobility. He first appears in "Midnight on the Firing Line" as assistant to Ambassador Londo Mollari, a post his family arranged to keep him as far away from them as possible. In the first two seasons he proves an able aide and befriends Lennier, the acolyte of the Minbari ambassador Delenn.
Lore & Background
He appears less in season three because Furst had taken a sitcom role; in-universe Londo arranges his reassignment as liaison to Minbar, saying it will help Vir's career but privately telling Delenn he does not want Vir around for the coming Shadow War. Vir remains an important character through the Shadow War arc.
