Background
Autodelta (UK) was founded by Jano Djelalian and focuses on creating tuning parts and full bodykits for Alfa Romeo vehicles, along with offering servicing, repairs, and engineering work. The company also builds fully tuned Alfa Romeo cars from scratch, with upgrades to suspension, engines, and forced induction. Early projects included supercharging the Alfa Romeo 166 and an engine upgrade for the SZ sportscar that expanded the engine to 3.5 litres and added a supercharger.
Two years later, a more powerful supercharger unit was developed in partnership with the Danish firm Rotrex. In 2004, Autodelta gained attention when its modified 147 GTA AM appeared on the motoring show Top Gear in Series 2, Episode 8, recording a Power Lap time of 1 minute 30 seconds—more than five seconds quicker than the standard 147 GTA’s 1.35.6. In 2005, Autodelta introduced a 341-horsepower Alfa Romeo GT at MPH’05, which was relaunched in 2007 with a bored-out 3.7-litre engine producing over 400 horsepower.
Model number 001 of this car was sold on the UK market twice, in 2017 and 2021. Also in 2007, Autodelta released a modified Alfa Romeo Spider called the J6 and upgraded the 147 GTA to 422 horsepower. By mid-2008, the company officially launched the 159 J4 2.2 C, featuring a supercharger, a new intake system, an NGK ignition system, and a limited slip differential. A one-off Type 916 Spider, named the Spider Superflow, was built for a private UK customer, with a unique body and an overhauled V6 engine producing 341 horsepower.
In 2009, the Brera S 3.2 Compressore debuted at the MPH’09 motor show. After the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was released, Autodelta confirmed it was developing a modification package for that supercar, planned for 2010. Autodelta’s models are grouped into series: the J-series (named after founder Djelalian), the C series for supercharged models, the Super series for modified JTS-engined Alfas, and the Classic series for cars like the SZ. Based in Watford, the company also sells its products through international partners in Italy, Greece, Australia, Malaysia, and Russia.
