Lore & Background
Arsenal manager Herbert Chapman had led Huddersfield to three successive league titles in the 1920s, and in his honour the two teams walked out side by side, the first time this was done at a Cup Final. The match is remembered for the Graf Zeppelin airship passing over the stadium. Five days earlier Arsenal had drawn 6–6 at Leicester City, the highest-scoring draw in English top-flight history; Dave Halliday scored four in that game but was left out of the final for Lambert.
