Main characters

Ovide, voiced by Thor Bishopric, is a blue platypus who serves as the main character and unofficial leader of the group; he is smart, responsible, and kind. His cousin Saphron, a yellow platypus voiced by Terrence Scammell, is a good cook and gardener. Polo, also voiced by Terrence Scammell, is a feisty red lizard who carries a broom and works as the island's janitor; he is the group's tough guy and constantly tries and fails to catch Woody, a destructive woodworm.

Groaner, voiced by Dean Hagopian, is a white toucan whose name comes from his habit of telling weak jokes that make people groan. Doe, Rae, and Mi are a trio of koalas who are always shown sitting on branches or a couch; their names come from the first three solfège syllables, and they visually represent the three wise monkeys: Doe wears headphones listening to music (Hear no Evil), Rae wears sunglasses (See no Evil), and Mi almost always covers his mouth and sometimes hiccups (Speak no Evil).

Matilda is a female kangaroo not originally from the island; she mistook the others for cannibals and hid from them before warming up, and is skilled with herbal remedies and the boomerang, first appearing in episode 18. Cy Sly, voiced by A.J. Henderson, is a vain, scheming, megalomaniacal python and the primary antagonist, jealous of Ovide and wishing to overthrow him for control of the island. Bobo, voiced by Terrence Scammell, is Cy's bumbling keel-billed toucan minion and only friend, who refers to Cy as 'Boss'; despite his association with Cy, he has a good heart and wishes Ovide and his friends no ill will, and is often let off the hook while Cy suffers consequences.

Woody is a mischievous woodworm who tunnels around the island, altering bowling games and gnawing holes into Ovide's home, and is in constant conflict with Polo. Alvin is a blue three-toed sloth living in the island's forest; his role is very minor and the only word he can pronounce is 'Aye'.
