Writer Cirocco Dunlap explained that these characters refuse assistance out of deep denial—they are scared, unwilling to face reality, or unable to bear the consequences. Hall described how Baymax, while addressing physical ailments, naturally reaches a deeper emotional space that helps his patients grow as people. Baymax! made its world debut on June 17, 2022, at the Annecy Film Festival, with the full six-episode miniseries landing on Disney+ on June 29 of that year. The marketing build-up began in November 2021, when a teaser trailer dropped on the Walt Disney Animation Studios YouTube channel during Disney+ Day, followed by an official trailer on May 20, 2022, timed to National Streaming Day. The series' soundtrack, composed by Dominic Lewis—who had contributed additional music to the 2014 film—was released simultaneously with the full series on June 29. In terms of audience anticipation, Whip Media's TV Time app ranked Baymax! as the fifth most anticipated new television series for June 2022.
