Eventually, a human named Tomari Iori visits Earth, having been raised on a spaceship. The hotel staff discover that the infortunium pollution is no longer deadly to humans thanks to a special plant left by the first extraterrestrial visitor. However, humans have been in space so long that their bodies are now allergic to Earth's atmosphere, allowing only short visits. Tomari leaves, promising that more humans will come, and Yachiyo and her staff continue running the hotel.

The Prociones possess remarkable traits: they age far more slowly than humans, can shift between a human-like appearance and their true tanuki form, and will faint—reverting to their animal shape—whenever they experience a strong shock. Over the course of several centuries, Yachiyo and the family transform the hotel into a thriving interstellar destination. They construct a hot spring spa, build a distillery to produce their own whisky, and even launch advertising campaigns into the void of space to attract alien travelers. Ponko eventually marries Ponstin and welcomes a daughter, Tamako, who grows up to help run the hotel alongside her parents. The family's matriarch, Mujina, passes away midway through the narrative, her funeral held in the same ceremony as the wedding—a bittersweet convergence of joy and loss.

One driller robot has been damaged beyond repair, its original function now unknown. The hotel's original human owner departed Earth long ago and is presumed to have passed away. Yachiyo herself, the only active gynoid remaining on the planet, occasionally reveals a hidden delinquent side beneath her polished exterior, and she and her colleagues must periodically recharge to keep the hotel running.
