History
Corelia got its start in San Diego, California back in 2010, founded by guitarist Chris Dower and drummer Clayton Pratt. Bassist Adrian Alperstein came on board a few months after the initial formation, and by early 2010 the group was complete with vocalist Ryan Devlin and guitarist Ryan Borrell. While they were still putting the lineup together, the band shared several demos online. Their first release, the EP Nostalgia, came out in September 2011 and earned a 4.5/Superb rating from Sputnik Music. Reviewer Tim Perez called it "painstakingly refined over the years." The song "Treetops" includes guest vocals from Spencer Sotelo, who was Corelia's original vocalist and later fronted Periphery. In 2011, Devlin stepped in as a fill-in vocalist for The Human Abstract on the "Frak The Gods Tour" with Periphery in the US and Suicide Silence in Europe. The band picked up endorsements from Ernie Ball Music Man, Warwick, Toontrack, and Venus Fallen. Writing for new material started in early 2013, and on February 20, 2013, they debuted a song called "Ages Ago" at Gallery 127 in El Paso, Texas. At under three minutes, it was their shortest track to date. Corelia worked with Revolver Magazine to premiere the music video for "Red Sky Harbor," which was filmed live at East West Studios in West Hollywood. That same year, they served as direct support for Misery Signals on a US tour and aimed to release their first full-length album in fall 2013. On January 21, 2015, the band launched an Indiegogo campaign for that debut album, which nearly doubled its funding goal within a month. They promised a 90-minute double-disc album with a 2015 release, but after a long silence, it was unofficially released in May 2020.
