Lore & Background

Shelby and Matt Miller leave Los Angeles for North Carolina after an assault that caused Shelby to miscarry, and buy an abandoned colonial farmhouse. The house stands on the land where the Roanoke Colony moved after its disappearance in the 1580s, and it is haunted by the colony's ghosts, led by Thomasin White, the Butcher. The Millers also face the cannibalistic Polk family, who live nearby, and the immortal witch Scáthach.

Reader's Guide

In the sequel, Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell, the producer Sidney Aaron James brings the Millers and the actors who played them back to the farmhouse for three days during the blood moon, filmed by hidden cameras. The season ran for 10 episodes, from September 14 to November 16, 2016, and is connected to Asylum and Freak Show.
