Characters

Austin James, played by Parker Stevenson, is a genius-level scientist and inventor with an eidetic memory who constantly thinks, invents groundbreaking technology, and seeks answers to mysteries. His vast intellect isolated him from peers early in life, making him awkward in social situations and reclusive, though he has a deep love of humanity. He founded the think tank Serendip but has no interest in managing it, preferring to work in his refurbished warehouse home and laboratory. Michelle "Mickey" Castle, played by Ashley Crow, serves as Austin's secretary despite lacking a science background and relying on instincts rather than logic. Initially intimidated by Austin's genius, she grows to enjoy the adventure of working for him, and her unique observations aid his investigations. Howard Millhouse, played by Jon Cypher, is Serendip's long-suffering director who manages the company and funds Austin's experiments, but his attempts to involve Austin in the business only push him further away. Graham McKinley, played by Clive Revill, is Howard's apparent successor at Serendip who also clashes with Austin over projects.
