Captain Paul Turner, a doctor for USAMRIID, suffers from a rare form of aplastic anemia caused by chemical weapons exposure during the Persian Gulf War. USAMRIID recruits him to investigate criminal abuses of science and technology. A mysterious woman from a shadowy organization provides him with a temporary cure for his symptoms, creating a dependency that the organization occasionally exploits to control him. Both the shadowy organization's machinations and Turner's reliance on the cure are resolved in the final episode.
