Background

Seedorf formed a legendary friendship on the pitch known as 'De kabel,' originally a trio with Edgar Davids and Patrick Kluivert, later expanding to a quintet including Winston Bogarde and Michael Reiziger. This bond solidified during UEFA Euro 1996. During his time at Ajax, he idolized teammate Frank Rijkaard. In the 1994–95 season, Seedorf played a key role in winning the fourth European Cup trophy for Amsterdam, defeating AC Milan 1–0 in the final. He was replaced in the 53rd minute by Nwankwo Kanu, while Patrick Kluivert scored the late winner. This victory marked his first of four Champions League titles and cemented his place as one of the most successful players in UEFA history.
