Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations is an action-adventure game from 2015. It was developed by Vicious Cycle Software and published by Little Orbit. This is the fifth video game based on the *Adventure Time* cartoon, following *Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!* (2012), *Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW!* (2013), *Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom* (2014), and *Adventure Time: Finn & Jake's Epic Quest* (2014), and it is the first game in the series to use full 3D graphics for its action-adventure gameplay.
Players explore locations in the Land of Ooo, talk to characters, solve puzzles creatively, and fight enemies. The story loosely follows the show's sixth season and focuses on exploration, investigation, and puzzle-solving. After finding a machine called the 'tickertype' that prints assignments, Finn and Jake decide to become detectives inspired by their parents: Joshua (Finn and Jake's father) and Margaret (Jake's biological mother and Finn's adoptive mother). As players defeat enemies, they gradually fill the treasure room in Finn and Jake's Tree House with loot.
The game holds a score of 66 on Metacritic. Nintendo Life gave it a 7 out of 10, noting it may be too simple for experienced players but is fun for younger audiences and families, and recommended it for big fans of the show. Nintendo World Report also gave it a 7 out of 10, calling it the best *Adventure Time* game so far, though easy, and saying it made them smile as fans.
The game was removed from digital stores on March 31, 2018, because Little Orbit's license for *Adventure Time* expired.
