OpTic Gaming Exit
The OpTic roots of 100 Thieves and the 2020 purchase of OpTic's Los Angeles slot.
100 Thieves' founder Matthew 'Nadeshot' Haag was a former OpTic Gaming Call of Duty team captain, leading the team in the 2014 Ghosts season and the 2014–15 Advanced Warfare season after BigTymer's retirement. He went on to found 100 Thieves as a lifestyle brand and gaming organisation in Los Angeles.
Lore & Background
The organisation at first said in 2019 that it would not join the Call of Duty League. In November 2020 it reversed course: 100 Thieves acquired the OpTic Gaming Los Angeles franchise slot from Immortals Gaming Club and rebranded the team as the Los Angeles Thieves for the 2021 season.
The Los Angeles Thieves won the organisation's first world championship by beating Atlanta FaZe in the 2022 Call of Duty League final.
