Players can hack into various electronic devices connected to the ctOS system with Marcus's in-game smartphone. Hacking options include modifying personal information of NPCs to have them arrested or attacked by gangs, hacking mobile phones, disrupting traffic by hacking cars and traffic lights, hacking monitoring cameras, and carrying out mass hacking. The player can also gain multiple options while hacking the same object, such as taking direct control of a car or making it crash.
