DedSec
A hacker collective fighting corruption through ctOS.
DedSec is a hacker group featured in the Watch Dogs franchise. In Watch Dogs 2, the group is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and works to raise social awareness about the dangers of ctOS 2.0 and expose the corruption of its creators, the Blume Corporation. In Watch Dogs: Legion, the local branch of DedSec in London seeks to clear their names after being framed for a series of terrorist bombings and attempts to liberate the city from the control of Albion, an oppressive private military company.
Lore & Background
DedSec first appears in Watch Dogs 2, where the protagonist Marcus Holloway joins the group after being punished for a crime he did not commit through ctOS 2.0. In Watch Dogs: Legion, the London branch of DedSec is the central organization the player works with.
Reader's Guide
In Watch Dogs 2, players control Marcus Holloway as he works with DedSec to complete missions and expose corruption. In Watch Dogs: Legion, players recruit virtually any NPC to join DedSec, each with unique skills, and can complete missions in multiple ways depending on the selected character.
