The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410

A medieval dynasty simulation reboot set for Early access in 2026.

The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410

Ashborne Games, a Czech developer, is working on a medieval life, economic, and political simulation titled The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410. Set for release as an Early Access title on September 17, 2026, the game will be published by THQ Nordic for Microsoft Windows, with a potential console version arriving later.

The core objective is to build an influential dynasty, starting from modest origins. Players begin by running a small business—such as trade, blacksmithing, stonemasonry, tailoring, farming, alchemy, or petty crime—and must climb the social ladder to become a wealthy magnate or city leader. Success requires managing finances, making personal life decisions, cultivating social ties, and navigating political challenges. Family planning is essential, as the game continues only if an heir survives childhood illnesses after the first character dies. Unlike The Guild 2’s third-person view, this remake uses isometric and top-down perspectives. Multiplayer supports up to 12 players.

The game is a remake of the original The Guild (2002), not a sequel or reboot of later entries. Development began after Ashborne Games finished the real-time strategy title Last Train Home (2023) and assisted on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. The studio drew particular inspiration from the original 2002 game, Europa 1400: The Guild. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the project was first revealed in August 2025 with a live-action trailer. Ashborne Games provided updates via Steam, releasing a demo in June 2026 and planning an Early Access launch for July, which was later postponed to September to incorporate player feedback. The Early Access release was confirmed for September 17, 2026.

Reader's Guide

The game is a reboot of the Guild series, which began with Europa 1400: The Guild in 2002 and continued with The Guild 2 in 2006. After the browser game Guild 1400 (2009–2012) failed to meet expectations, and The Guild 3 (announced 2017, released 2022) was plagued by bugs and technical problems, THQ Nordic decided to produce a reboot. Development started after Ashborne Games completed Last Train Home (2023) and assisted on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. The first installment from 2002 served as a particular inspiration. The game was first revealed in August 2025 with a live-action trailer. A demo was released in June 2026, and the Early access launch was postponed from July to September 2026 to incorporate feedback. In August 2026, the title was changed to The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 to better connect it to the original game.
