Captain America: Super Soldier

Plot

In 1944 France, Captain America rescues a U.S. unit from Hydra and informs Howard Stark about advanced enemy weapons. After learning from Peggy Carter that the munitions contain rare metals traced to the Bavarian mountains, he learns of Dr. Arnim Zola's Project: Master Man. He para-drops into Castle Zemo, disables defenses, and engages Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. Strucker incapacitates him, and Captain America awakens in Zola's laboratory, where Zola extracts blood to replicate the Super-Soldier Serum.

Escaping, he liberates Bucky Barnes, rescues Dum Dum Dugan, and pursues Madame Hydra. He prevents the Red Skull from receiving a perfected serum, defeats Iron Cross, but the Red Skull activates the Sleeper automaton while Zola transfers his consciousness into a robotic vessel. Captain America destroys Zola's robotic body, frees James Falsworth, and leads the Invaders in a final assault against the Sleeper, then withdraws with the liberated forces.

Reception

The game received mixed reviews. Metacritic scores were 60/100 for Xbox 360, 61/100 for PlayStation 3, and 57/100 for Wii. IGN rated it 5/10, praising combat but criticizing the lack of cinematic experience. GameSpot gave 6.5/10, noting stylish combat but a dull story and bland visuals. G4 gave 4/5, praising it above Thor: God of Thunder and Iron Man 2, while PlayStation Official Magazine (UK) gave 7/10, praising combat and tone but criticizing presentation and quick time events.
