Thomas Gradin
Swedish centre who became Vancouver's all-time leading scorer and played in the 1982 Final.
Thomas Kjell Gradin, born February 18, 1956, currently works as an associate head scout for the Vancouver Canucks. Before that, he played centre in both the NHL and Sweden’s top league from 1975 to 1990. Chicago picked him 45th overall in the 1976 draft, but he didn’t move to North America until the Canucks acquired his rights in a 1978 trade. During eight seasons in Vancouver, Gradin became the franchise’s all-time points leader, appeared in the 1982 Stanley Cup Final, and played in the 1985 NHL All-Star Game. After one year with Boston, he finished his playing career back in Sweden with AIK. He rejoined the Canucks as a scout in 1994, helping the team draft Swedish talents like Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Mattias Öhlund, and Alexander Edler. In 2011, the Canucks honored him with a spot in their Ring of Honour.
