The series follows seven teenagers—Jay, Atlanta, Herry, Archie, Theresa, Odie, and Neil—who are descendants of ancient Greek heroes. They are brought to Olympus High School in New Olympia to train against Cronus, the titan of time who escaped from Tartarus when the planets aligned on New Year's Eve. Each hero has unique abilities and mentors among the Greek gods, such as Hera, Ares, and Aphrodite.

Cronus, voiced by David Kaye, is the Titan of time and seeks revenge on Zeus and the Olympians. He wields kama-like scythes and has powers including time manipulation, shapeshifting, and duplication. The heroes face monsters he sends and ultimately fulfill a prophecy to defeat him, with Theresa's powers growing out of control before she is revived by Jay's kiss.

The show made its debut on December 31, 2005, at 5 pm Eastern and Pacific time on Teletoon, where the network chose to air a special 90-minute presentation combining the first three episodes into a single block. This New Year's Eve premiere gave the series a distinctive launch moment. The show's American run was considerably more limited. Qubo picked up the series for a brief window from September 19 to October 24, 2009. After a gap of several years, the show found a second life on Qubo when it was added to the network's Qubo Night Owl block on April 1, 2012, taking the slot previously held by Spliced. It remained in that late-night programming slot until July 25, 2020, giving it a surprisingly long tail on American television despite its modest initial U.S. exposure.

Atlanta, the Hunter, traces her bloodline to Atalanta and brings enhanced reflexes and tracking skills from her upbringing in the Northwest Territories. Herry, the Brawn, inherits superhuman strength from his ancestor Hercules and often fights with bare fists. Archie, the Warrior, is Achilles' descendant and wields a chain-whip hybrid called the Hephaestus Whip, later upgraded to the Adamantine Whip. Romantic Arcs & Theresa's Power Crisis

Beyond the monster-of-the-week structure, the series invests heavily in the romantic and interpersonal dynamics among its cast. Jay harbors feelings for Theresa from early on, yet their relationship does not crystallize until the series finale, when they finally share a kiss. Archie's arc is particularly layered: he has been quietly in love with Atlanta since their first meeting but is terrified of confessing, and when he finally does, she initially fears their bond will change before reciprocating his feelings. His initial hostility toward Theresa stems from his deep skepticism of the supernatural—he dismisses her precognitive abilities as mere predictions—though the two eventually reconcile. Theresa's story reaches its most dramatic peak when the gods push her too far, causing her powers to spiral into an evil spirit that drains the abilities of most of the gods and Cronus himself. After draining Zeus, she declares herself and Jay free, only to be horrified upon learning that Hera had instructed Jay to kill her. Overwhelmed by the Phantom's power, she dies, but Jay revives her with a kiss, fulfilling the prophecy in the most personal way possible.
