Lore & Background
Milan were the first Italian club to enter the new European Cup in 1955-56 and reached the final two years later, losing to Real Madrid. Under Nereo Rocco they won their first European Cup the season after the 1961-62 title, beating Benfica in the final. Later they beat Steaua Bucuresti 4-0 in a final for their first European Cup in two decades, then retained it with a 1-0 win over Benfica, the last back-to-back winners until Real Madrid in 2017. Fabio Capello's side added the 1993-94 Champions League.
