Lore & Background

Sadeas agrees to Dalinar's plan to trap the Parshendi at the Tower, the largest plateau on the Shattered Plains, but betrays him by retreating with his bridges and leaving Dalinar stranded. When Dalinar confronts him afterwards, Dalinar trades his Shardblade, Oathbringer, for the two thousand bridgemen under Sadeas's control. In Words of Radiance Adolin challenges Sadeas to a duel, and in Oathbringer Torol Sadeas is murdered and his wife Ialai promotes Amaram as the new highprince.
