Parshendi
The Listeners, who war with Alethkar on the Shattered Plains.
The Parshendi, also called Listeners, are a race of humanoids with mottled red and black skin. In The Way of Kings they sent the assassin Szeth to kill King Gavilar, and Gavilar's son Elhokar declares war on them; the Alethi fight them on the Shattered Plains.
Lore & Background
Jasnah and Shallan come to believe that the Parshendi laid waste to humanity in the past, creating the myth of the Voidbringers. In Words of Radiance the scholar Venli discovers a new form, Stormform, and her sister Eshonai, the last Parshendi Shardbearer, takes it and summons the Everstorm at Narak. The Oathbringer prologue shows that the Listeners had Gavilar killed because he planned to bring back the gods who had deserted them.
