Teft's history is defined by his service in King Elhokar's army before being demoted to Bridge Four. Throughout Rhythm of War, he remains a vocal critic of blind optimism, often challenging Kaladin with questions about the cost of their oaths. His role expands significantly when the tower is overrun; while most Radiants fall unconscious due to the enemy's tactics, Teft continues to fight alongside Kaladin and Lift. He acts as a stabilizing force for the resistance forming within Urithiru, helping to organize the humans who mark themselves with the shash brand in homage to Kaladin. His leadership is tested not by grand battles alone, but by the psychological toll of watching his friends suffer and die.

In Their Own Story

The chaos of Urithiru's fall saw Teft standing firm amidst the encroaching Fused and singers. While the tower erupted into full-on rebellion, Teft fought to protect the Sibling and harry the enemy forces alongside Kaladin. However, tragedy struck when Moash infiltrated the resistance. In a devastating confrontation, Moash attacked Teft's spren with anti-stormlight, permanently killing it before turning his blade on Teft himself. This event left Kaladin heartbroken, driving him to a suicidal brink until he was consoled by Dalinar through a vision of Tien. Teft's death marked a turning point for the surviving Radiants, underscoring the brutal reality that even the most steadfast among them could fall when facing an enemy capable of destroying spren.
