Christopher's Addiction

Heroin, an intervention, rehab and the relapses that follow

Christopher Moltisanti's drug problem is one of the longest-running storylines in The Sopranos. His heroin use gets out of hand around the time of his temporary promotion: Tony realises Chris is high when he calls him in to help dispose of Ralph Cifaretto's body, Chris is later carjacked while trying to buy heroin, and after he hits Adriana, Tony arranges an intervention. The meeting falls apart when it comes out that Chris, while high, had killed Adriana's dog by sitting on it, but Tony insists on rehab and has Patsy keep watch over him. Chris goes back to heroin after Adriana's death, and in season six his drug use returns while he runs his own crew and chases a film career, leaving Tony doubting whether his nephew can ever be trusted as a successor.
