Star Wars: Ahsoka

Ahsoka, titled *Star Wars: Ahsoka*, is an American space fantasy series created by Dave Filoni for Disney+. It belongs to the Star Wars franchise and spins off from *The Mandalorian*, set in the same period after the film *Return of the Jedi*. The story follows former Jedi apprentice Ahsoka Tano and her companions as they protect the early New Republic from Imperial holdouts. Rosario Dawson plays the title role, having first appeared as Ahsoka in *The Mandalorian*. The cast also includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Eman Esfandi, Evan Whitten, Genevieve O'Reilly, Hayden Christensen, Ariana Greenblatt, Lars Mikkelsen, and Anthony Daniels. Ahsoka Tano was originally created by Filoni for the animated series *Star Wars: The Clone Wars*. Dawson was cast for the live-action role in *The Mandalorian*’s second season, and Lucasfilm announced a spin-off series starring her in December 2020, with Filoni as showrunner. The series continues the story from the animated show *Star Wars Rebels*. Executive producers from *The Mandalorian*—Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson—returned, joined by Carrie Beck. The first season premiered on August 22, 2023, with two episodes; the remaining six aired weekly through October 3. It drew high viewership, generally favorable reviews, and won a Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award. A second season is set to premiere on January 20, 2027. After the Empire’s fall in *Return of the Jedi*, Ahsoka Tano teams up with her former apprentice Sabine Wren and other characters from *Star Wars Rebels* to stop Grand Admiral Thrawn—stranded in another galaxy—from returning and rallying Imperial remnants against the New Republic. The first season concludes with Thrawn’s return, leaving Ahsoka and Sabine trapped in the other galaxy. In the second season, they embark on a journey tied to the Mortis gods and confront the fallen Jedi Baylan Skoll, while Thrawn leads the Empire against the New Republic.
