Boba Fett
The legendary hunter who survived the Sarlacc to claim his destiny on the sands of Tatooine.
Boba Fett is a legendary bounty hunter and clone of Jango Fett who appears in The Book of Boba Fett, a spin-off from The Mandalorian. The series follows him as he establishes himself as the new crime lord of Jabba the Hutt's former territory on Tatooine. Temuera Morrison stars as the title character, exploring Fett's past and what happened to him between Return of the Jedi (1983) and the second season of The Mandalorian (2020). Morrison focused on Fett's "simmering kind of violence" and desire for revenge, as well as his loneliness caused by watching his father die at a young age, which plays into the idea that he finds a new family in a tribe of Tusken Raiders.

Lore & Background
Boba Fett is a clone of his father Jango Fett, as seen in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), where archive footage of Daniel Logan as a young Fett was used. In The Book of Boba Fett, Fett calls upon the Mandalorian, Din Djarin, to help consolidate his power while Djarin's ward Grogu trains to be a Jedi with Luke Skywalker. Fett's past includes watching his father die at a young age, which caused his loneliness. He finds a new family in a tribe of Tusken Raiders. The series also features flashbacks to Order 66, with Morrison voicing the clone troopers. Fett's armor was previously worn by Cobb Vanth, the marshal of the Tatooine town of Freetown.
Reader's Guide
Boba Fett is a complex figure defined by his transition from a legendary bounty hunter to a sovereign crime lord. His arc explores themes of legacy, redemption, and the redefinition of what it means to be a Mandalorian. While he possesses the same combat prowess as his genetic template, Boba distinguishes himself through strategic thinking and an evolving moral code. His skills include expert marksmanship, piloting mastery, and stealth operations, all honed over decades of survival.
A defining moment in his journey was escaping the Sarlacc pit, which transformed him from a myth into a survivor with a second chance at life. Another pivotal event occurred when he allied with Din Djarin to defeat the Pyke Syndicate, solidifying his status as a leader who values honor. Unlike many bounty hunters who serve the highest bidder, Boba eventually chose to protect his own territory and people, establishing a rule of law in Mos Espa that balanced fear with respect. His journey is one of reclaiming identity after being defined by others.
