The Void

The Void is a dimension inside Elmore in The Amazing World of Gumball where all of the universe's mistakes end up, a feature of the series since its third season that holds references to real-world things as well as discarded elements of the show itself. It was introduced in the season 3 episode "The Void" (the show's 88th), in which Gumball, Darwin and Mr. Small investigate a missing classmate. Rob, a background character from the first two seasons, was trapped there after becoming "irrelevant"; he escaped in season 3 and became Gumball's nemesis, and in the season 6 finale "The Inquisition" he fell back in. The revival episode "The Rewrite" established that the Void will end the show's universe if the series is cancelled or the main characters discover they are fictional.
