Plot
British schoolgirl Melanie Hobson wins a trip to Australia and discovers at the airport that she has a double, Minty Sullivan, an Australian soap opera star. Minty, tired of her life as an actress, is dressed as Cinderella as part of a prize for a fan of her television program. The two swap identities, with Melanie keeping Minty's appointment as Cinderella. They continue to swap places frequently, with almost nobody suspecting the truth. Although identical in appearance, the girls differ in abilities: Melanie is good at sport and can sing, while Minty can dance and is studious. Melanie has parents, a brother, and many aunts and uncles in England, but Minty has no family. In the final episode they switch places for good, Melanie starting a singing career and Minty enjoying having a real family.
