Britannia High was a musical drama series for ITV, co-produced by Granada and Globe Productions. It followed teenagers and their mentors at a fictional London theatre school. The show debuted on ITV and TV3 Ireland on 26 October 2008.

Production
Britannia High was based on an idea by Arlene Phillips and David Ian, who served as executive producers. Gareth Philips developed the series for ITV Productions in Manchester, with Brian Grant as series producer and lead director. The writing team included Jonathan Harvey, Damon Rochefort, Julie Jones, Kirstie Falkous, and John Regier. Gary Barlow contributed to the score, alongside Guy Chambers, Steve Mac, Andy Hill, Mark Owen, James Bourne, and Eliot Kennedy. ITV commissioned the show from its in-house production division but did not order a second series after low ratings.
Interactive elements
The series offered extensive online content on itv.com, ITV Mobile, ITV Interactive, and Bebo. The Britannia High website served as the virtual school, featuring blogs, photographs, e-newsletters, and music from Universal Artists. Characters BB and Jez hosted a podcast with songs from the series and world songs. ITV's red button service provided preview and catch-up videos, character profiles, photo galleries, and dance tutorials.
Soundtrack
The Britannia High Soundtrack was released on 24 November 2008, containing 18 songs from the show. Tracks included "Start Of Something" by the cast, "Missing Person" by Danny, "Best Of Me" by Lauren, and "Watch This Space" by Lauren and Claudine. Other songs were "Growing Pains", "What Good Is Love", "So High", "Wake Up", "Body To Body", "The Things That We Don't Say", "Proud", "Fight Song", "Do It All Over Again", "Picking Up The Pieces", "Confessions", "Without You", "Weight Of The World", and "Changing Man". The CD included a weblink to download a "Britannia High Megamix", the "Start of Something" video, and behind-the-scenes footage.
