Always and Everyone (later known as A&E) is a British television medical drama broadcast on ITV, set in the Accident and Emergency department of St Victor's city hospital in Manchester, with some exterior scenes filmed in Birmingham. The series ran for four series between 7 June 1999 and 22 August 2002, and was described as ITV's answer to Casualty and the British equivalent of ER. It featured an ensemble cast, with Martin Shaw and Niamh Cusack appearing throughout all four series. The show underwent a major cast and format overhaul in its third series, rebranding as A&E, and introduced twelve new characters in its fourth series. Forty episodes were broadcast across the four series.
