Facts from the source article.
Overview
The series follows three travelling showmen from the fictional Eastern European country of Réndøosîa, which suffers frequent natural disasters and is at war with neighboring Grimzimistan. The brothers—Xan, Enk, and Adi—travel the world performing dangerous stunts, often succeeding through luck rather than skill. They visit real countries, historical periods, and fictional settings, communicating only in their native Réndøosîan language.
History
The series began as a student revue act at the University of Nottingham in the 1990s, performed by The Pox. They pitched their idea to Pesky, where Chambers worked as an animator, after the BBC approached Pesky for new content for the CBBC website. Ten two-and-a-half-minute shorts were produced, with "Ocean of Terror" winning the Prix des Internautes at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2002 and a People's Choice Award at Anima Mundi in 2003. By 2004, plans for a longer series emerged, and in 2005 production began on 78 seven-minute episodes as a UK-Canadian co-production. The series first aired on Cartoon Network in the United States on 2 October 2005 as part of Sunday Pants, then as a full series in March 2006 on CITV in the UK. It won a Pulcinella Award at Cartoons On The Bay in 2006, and the episode "Hunchback of Heartbreak" won a BAFTA for Best Animation Series that same year.
Broadcast
In Canada, the show aired on YTV and VRAK.TV, and in Wales on S4C. In the United Kingdom, it aired on CITV and briefly on Cartoon Network in 2007, with reruns on Boomerang from 2009 to 2011 and Pop from 2012 to 2015. The series debuted first in Australia on ABC Australia on 2 March 2006. StudioCanal released a 3-disc DVD set in the United Kingdom on 9 April 2012 containing all 78 episodes, though two episodes were edited to remove dangerous imitable behavior. The original web episodes are available on the official Adrenalini YouTube channel, and the TV series later appeared on the adult animation channel Huha.
