Cast and characters

Ethan Wayne portrays Officer Matt Doyle, a white officer who serves as the revival's counterpart to Pete Malloy. Doyle's father was a New York City Police Department officer whose infidelity by Doyle's mother led Doyle to initially resist becoming a police officer; he is single, and his thoughts on single life and finding a girlfriend appear in subplots and in-car conversations. Peter Parros plays Officer Gus Grant, an African American officer and the revival's counterpart to Jim Reed. Grant's father was a Korean War veteran, and Grant himself was a star college football player at UCLA before joining the LAPD; he is married, and his wife's demands are a recurring topic. Grant's name comes from an African American motorcycle officer in the original Adam-12 played by William Elliott, though they are separate characters. Miguel Fernandes appears as Sergeant Harry Santos, the watch commander of Central Division, who speaks in a commanding, emotive manner with a no-nonsense personality during roll call but is otherwise caring and willing to banter. In season 2 episode 11, "Lock House", Santos is replaced by Cruz. Alma Martinez plays Sergeant Elizabeth Cruz, who takes over as watch commander from that episode onward; she is similar to Santos but lacks his emotive banter-prone personality and is more willing to personally care for her officers. Linden Ashby portrays Officer Honeycutt, a recurring officer partnered with Neville and friends with Doyle and Grant. Harri James plays Officer Neville, a recurring officer partnered with Honeycutt and also friends with Doyle and Grant.
