Premise
Dot Comedy tried to bring web-based humor to network TV before high-speed internet was common. Premiering on ABC, it was hosted by Annabelle Gurwitch, the Sklar Brothers, and Katie Puckrik. Based on a British series, it worked like America's Funniest Home Videos: hosts and the studio audience reacted to funny material found online. Puckrik also spoke with the people who made the clips. Viewers could send in their own videos, audio, and images. Oxygen co-produced the show and planned to air episodes after their ABC broadcast. It took over the time slot of The Trouble with Normal, which ABC had pulled after five episodes. Dot Comedy fared worse, drawing 4.1 million viewers for its sole broadcast before being canceled. The other four episodes were never shown.
