Synopsis

Two brothers are reunited in Chicago: Damon, a clever but politically incorrect undercover detective, and Bernard, his older brother, a married rent-a-cop who longs to be a real officer. Down on his luck and separated from his wife, Bernard spends most of his time on Damon's couch. At the precinct, Captain Carol Czynencko is Damon's hard-as-nails boss trying to get in touch with her sensitive side; Stacy Phillips is a career-driven Latina with a no-dating-cops rule; Carrol Fontain is a hypochondriac; Jimmy Tortone is a Cuban con-artist; and Billy McCarthy is a gung-ho, gullible new officer.

Reception

Critics were harsh on the Damon sitcom. Entertainment Weekly's Bruce Fetts called it the crassest show in history, with far too many lowlights to mention. While The Standard-Times found Wayans brilliant, it labeled the series amateurish. The New York Times' Rick Lyman praised Wayans' caricatures but panned the writing. The Hartford Courant noted the cast's strong talents, especially the Wayans-Grier chemistry, yet described the show as lowbrow and raucous.
