Prequel series about Superman's grandfather on Krypton.
Krypton is an American science fiction television series developed by David S. Goyer for Syfy. The series focuses on Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), the grandfather of DC Comics superhero Kal-El / Superman, and is set approximately 200 years before the destruction of Krypton. It premiered on March 21, 2018, and was canceled after two seasons, with the series finale airing on August 14, 2019.

The series follows Seg-El, a scion of the House of El, whose family has been ostracized and shamed. Seg fights to redeem his family's honor and save his world from chaos. Key characters include Lyta-Zod, a primus of the Kryptonian military guild; Adam Strange, a human from the future who warns Seg of Brainiac; and Brainiac himself, an alien android who collects cities. The cast also includes General Dru-Zod, Lyta-Zod's cousin and a contemporary of Seg-El, and Jax-Ur, a former leader of the Black Zero terrorist group.
