The World Seed: the engine package Kirito leaked to revive virtual reality.
The World Seed is a consolidated package of the Cardinal system, the game engine Akihiko Kayaba built for Sword Art Online and that was then copied for ALfheim Online.
Lore & Background
The package was given to Kirito, who released it online with the aim of reviving a virtual reality industry that the SAO incident had wrecked, and it worked: the worlds that followed, including Gun Gale Online, were built from it. RATH later used The Seed to create the Underworld.
