Lore & Background
In the Enterprise episode "Home", Tucker says Vulcan is a little over 16 light years from Earth, which fits 40 Eridani A at 16.39 light years.
Vulcans are said to have an inner eyelid that protects their sight from bright light, a trait that evolved because Vulcan is so close to its sun.
