Plot

Four years after the events of Your Fault, Nick and Noah are both attending the wedding of their mutual best friends, Lion and Jenna, on the island of Ibiza. Nick has become a high-level executive at LCR, his family’s multinational corporation. When Noah sees him on the cover of Forbes, she is clearly shaken. She does not realize she is the maid of honor until she receives her dress, and she protests because it means she will have to stand beside Nick, who is the best man. Jenna insists everything will be fine. Noah is forced to ride to the rehearsal dinner with Nick, and they trade subtle jabs. At the dinner, Nick continues to provoke her, though he still has her name tattooed on his arm. During the wedding reception, the two are repeatedly placed near each other. At one point, they both acknowledge how obvious the setup is, but soon they are in each other’s arms. After they sleep together, Noah admits she saw the message Nick left on her father’s headstone. He responds that he cannot forget catching her cheating on him, and then he leaves.

After graduating with a degree in English and Spanish, Noah struggles to find work. She interviews at a tech company called LRB, whose CEO is Simón—a man she met on her flight there. She gets the job, and later he persuades her to go on a date, where she asks to take things slowly. LRB is looking for investors, and Nick’s company needs to improve its public image, so Nick inadvertently buys into the firm. He is surprised to find Noah working there and tries to antagonize her at every opportunity. At Christmas, since their parents are still married, the family tension continues. Nick pressures her at work by banning relationships between employees. Frustrated, Noah quits, supposedly to keep dating Simón. Meanwhile, Nick’s mother Anabel is diagnosed with leukemia and signs over custody of Maggie to their father. Nick convinces Noah that he does not want to sleep alone, so they become intimate again. When he wakes up the next morning, she is gone.

As a tearful Noah drives away, she notices she is bleeding. Worried, she visits her gynecologist at the hospital and is shocked to learn she is four months pregnant. Michael, her former college neighbor and a psychiatrist, overhears this and accesses her file. Noah tells Jenna about the pregnancy, and Jenna happily invites her to stay with her and Lion. Jenna later tells her husband but insists he keep it secret from Nick. Michael meets with Sofia at the hospital and asks her to retract her accusation of his deviant behavior while he worked at the college. When Sofia refuses, Michael suggests that Nick might be persuaded instead. He then shows Sofia Noah’s ultrasound, which contains all the pregnancy details. Michael mentions that Noah and Nick have been working together at LSB, which Sofia did not know. Because the public believes Sofia and Nick are a couple, the news could harm her father’s political career.

Nick and Sofia run into Simón and Noah at a dance club. Seeing them together, Nick becomes jealous. When he gets the chance, he pulls Noah aside and kisses her. Sofia is distracted dancing with Simón. Just as she is about to catch up with the other two, Nick leads Noah out because she is feeling unwell. Taking her home, Noah repeats that they both need to move on. Not long after, Anabel dies from leukemia, and the family reunites for the funeral. As her pregnancy becomes too obvious, Noah decides to move to Santander to live with an aunt permanently. Meanwhile, Nick and Sofia break up, and she advises him to stop holding grudges and go after Noah. Following her advice, he finds Noah just as she is about to leave Jenna and Lion’s place. Nick sees that Noah is pregnant, and after a brief chase, he catches up to her at her mother’s house. A disgruntled LCR employee shoots Nick in revenge. Months later, he wakes from a coma. The couple is happily together with their baby until the disturbed Briar and Michael try to take the child. After a struggle, both are defeated. Months later, Noah and Nick finally get married.
